NEWS & UPDATES

May update: Trikes for a koha, winter tips, fill in our survey and you could win an iPad

06 Jun 2024

Brrrr – winter surely has arrived. This week has certainly seen some cold temperatures across the motu and wild weather to boot! Be sure to travel safe, and stay warm.

As always, there is plenty going on here at the Cerebral Palsy Society, so I’ve got lots to share with you.

Member survey – be in to win an iPad!

This time last week, we launched our member survey. And we’ve had so many fabulous responses already! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share thoughts, opinions, helpful ideas and appreciation for the mahi we do.

The survey was sent to current members via email, so if you haven’t filled it in yet, take a look in your inbox and tell us your thoughts.

We want to hear from you about what works and what doesn’t. What do we do well and what could we do better?

And to say “thank you!” we’re giving away an Apple iPad to one lucky winner. You just need to fill in your details at the end of the survey to go in the draw.

The survey closes at midnight on Sunday, June 23.

Offer a koha for a trike

You may have seen that the CP Society has made the difficult decision to disestablish the getOnYourTrike programme.
The decision was prompted by the decline in participation and will enable us to prioritise programmes where the greatest impact can be delivered for our members.

As part of the programme’s closure, the Society is offering its fleet of trikes to members, and other interested parties, in return for a koha (donation) based on the trike’s valuation.

The trikes are suitable for ages 3 – 14+. Cogys (pedaling wheelchair) and trailers are also available.

We’ve had a great response so far, with a number of trikes already sold.
Click on this link to see the PDF with the trikes that are still available, and to find the link to the form to offer a koha.  SOLD stickers are put on trikes once payment has been received.

Don’t delay – all sales, collections and deliveries must be completed by June 14.

If you have any questions, please contact us on 0800 503 603 or email cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz

These trikes have plenty of life left in them, and we’re really looking forward to them going to wonderful new homes where they will get plenty of use.

We know, we know….. it’s only the end of May and Be Green & Be Seen isn’t until October…..

BUT we were in the studio earlier this month with the young man who is the face of this year’s fundraising and awareness campaign.

Get your green thinking caps on and WATCH THIS SPACE!

If you want to get in touch with us and discuss any ideas you have for how you are going to take part in this year’s campaign, then please contact us – we’d love to hear from you.

Keeping warm this winter

Considering winter’s obvious arrival this week, Amy Hogan, our Researcher and Member Support Advisor, has put pen to paper (so to speak) and collated a few tips on keeping warm when you live with Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi.

Take a look at her article and be sure to keep yourself warm and toasty on these cold winter days.
