So much green enthusiasm

Be Green & Be Seen 2023 raises funds
and awareness

You did it! You went green throughout the month of October and made a massive difference to the lives of your fellow Cerebral Palsy Society members. Thank you!

Members got on board and coloured their hair green and got their kindys and schools involved. Members, relatives and friends ran the Auckland Marathon for us, companies put on green-themed morning teas and donated, and people got involved with our new physical challenge #beACTIVE.

There were green smoothies in Tokoroa, green ice creams in Kuaotunu and plenty of green baking. And there were lots of donations – single gifts from individuals and businesses, schools collecting gold coins, and companies matching their employees’ donations.

Thank you everyone! We couldn’t be happier. You have helped us raise a fabulous amount of money.

“We’ve been blown away by how people have gotten behind Be Green & Be Seen 2023,” the Society’s General Manager Clare Williams says.

“There’s been so much creativity and fun with this year’s fundraiser. We’ve loved seeing the photos come through and hearing about people’s activities.

“We were particularly excited to have Vector Lights supporting us by lighting the Auckland Harbour Bridge up green, and Digital Billboard Advertising gifting us space on their digital billboard
in Newmarket, Auckland. Then there were the regions that went green for Kiwis living with Cerebral Palsy by lighting up their landmarks. We were delighted to have these green beacons across the motu during October.”

Money raised during Be Green & Be Seen will support the Society’s getProgramme which funds transport, counselling, equipment, exercise and everyday essentials for members; as well as vital advisory services and social connection events.

Thank you to CP Society members Va Filemoni and Kevin Botha and his family, for sharing their stories to help raise awareness throughout the campaign.
