Marathon effort from fundraisers

27 Nov 2023

On Sunday, October 29, 12 people took to the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Marathon start line to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Society.

Some of them were members of the Society who live with Cerebral Palsy, other participants were parents, siblings, children and friends of members.

They took part in various events, and for some, it was their first time running or walking in an event of this scale.

Auckland-based Cerebral Palsy Society staff were on hand to cheer some of them across the finish line and show appreciation for their fabulous efforts.

At the time of The Review going to print, our Auckland Marathon participants had raised more than $5500 thanks to 106 generous donors.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who participated in the marathon, and everyone who donated in support of them,” says Cerebral Palsy Society General Manager Clare Williams.

“Thank you for your amazing efforts.”
