Marathon support for the CP Society
16 Mar 2023
Do you like to take part in marathons? Or are you a first-timer contemplating a new challenge?
Does this sound like someone you know – a family or whānau member, a friend or colleague?
The Cerebral Palsy Society is looking to build a team of marathon participants who are willing to fundraise for us – and we’d love you to join us.
Please helps us spread the word!
Our big focus for 2023 is the Auckland Marathon – which is being held on October 29, 2023. The event is perfectly timed to help us wrap up our month-long national fundraising and awareness campaign, Be Green & Be Seen.
We’re building a Be Green & Be Seen team and we’re welcoming everyone – from first-timers and walkers to marathon regulars, from Society members, their family, whānau and friends to colleagues and our supporters.
For information about joining our team, fundraising for the Society, and signing up, please click here.
Auckland Marathon’s Super Early Bird fee ends April 5, so register now.
If participating in a marathon isn’t for you, you can always make a donation to show your support. Click here to “give now”.
If the Auckland event doesn’t work for you, there are plenty of other marathon options throughout the year for you to consider, such as the:
- Southern Cross Rotorua Marathon, May 6, 2023
- Manawatu Striders Marathon & Half Marathon, May 14, 2023
- Hawke’s Bay Marathon, May 20, 2023
- Wellington Marathon, June 5, 2023
- Selwyn Marathon, June 20, 2023
- South Island Half Marathon, 6 August 2023
You’ll find plenty more using the search function on the Running Calendar website.
If you want to take part in any of these events, and fundraise for the Cerebral Palsy Society at the same time, you could set up a Givealittle page.
Feel free to contact our Partnerships and Fundraising Manager, Anne-Elise Smithson, for support – she’d love to hear from you and is happy to help.
