Getting school ready – primary and high school

Starting school, switching schools and moving from primary school to high school can be a big deal for any child (and their parents – let’s be honest!).
When you add in the extra elements of a child with a disability starting school there is more to think about. 
 
The team at the CP Society wish our tamariki (and their parents!) the very best of luck when it comes to starting school. Here’s to many years of learning, growing and becoming even more awesome. Kia kaha.

  • Starting high school – A guide for teens with Cerebral Palsy
    Preparing to leave elementary school is a big step. Starting high school can be a time of new challenges and making new friends. Some other teenagers with CP have given us some advice to share with you to help you know what to expect. Most teenagers with CP find that there can be a few things that are a bit hard in the first few weeks but then things get much easier.
