02 Oct 2023
October is just a few days away and we’re about to hit one of the busiest months of the year for the Cerebral Palsy Society! We’re really excited about what’s to come – and we look forward to you joining us along the way.
Cerebral Palsy Society AGM – Voting is open
The Cerebral Palsy Society has contracted electionz.com, an independent election management company, to manage its 2022 Board election.
Registered members of the Cerebral Palsy Society will have received an email from iro@electionz.com (not the CP Society) or a letter in their letter box from electionz.com with information about online voting.
If you have not received an email, please check your spam or junk email folders. If you still can’t find it, please email iro@electionz.com.
This is your opportunity to help decide who will represent you on the Cerebral Palsy Society Board.
The Board comprises of nine (9) Directors. There are four (4) positions available, and we have six (6) candidates.
The candidate profiles can be read here, and once logged in to the online voting site.
Voting is open, and you have until 4pm on Friday, 27 October 2023 to cast your votes.
The AGM material, including the AGM Agenda and minutes from the 2022 AGM can be accessed here.

Be Green & Be Seen
Sunday marks October 1 – the official start of Be Green & Be Seen.
Be Green & Be Seen is the Society’s annual national fundraising and awareness campaign and coincides with World Cerebral Palsy Day on October 6.
There are lots of ways you can get involved!
#beACTIVE
Be Green & Be Seen #beACTIVE is all about setting an active challenge that works for you. You chose the activity, the distance, or length of time, set up your own fundraising page and ask family, whānau, friends and colleagues to support you by making a donation.
Go green for the day
You can host a green-themed morning tea at work or a green mufti-day at school and ask colleagues and students for a donation. You could colour your hair green (temporary colour recommended!), dress green for the day, or use our Be Green & Be Seen virtual background for your online meetings.
Donate
You can donate to Be Green & Be Seen and encourage your family, whānau, friends and colleagues to do so as well.
– Sponsor someone who is completing a #beACTIVE challenge
– Donate on our Givealittle page using this link
– Head to the donation page on our website
Business support
Do you own a business, or work for one, that would be keen to support Be Green & Be Seen by donating a prize or becoming a sponsor? Our Events and Campaigns Specialist Sophie Westacott would LOVE to hear from you. Contact Sophie on 022 183 2051 or sophie@cpsociety.org.nz
Help us spread the word
Fundraising and awareness campaigns rely on the support of the people who directly benefit from the funds and awareness raised – you are the Society’s greatest and loudest advocates. So please help us by letting people know about Be Green & Be Seen. Share our social media posts, create your own (remember to tag us!) download the Be Green & Be Seen resources, forward our emails to your boss, your school, your friends! Let EVERYONE know Be Green & Be Seen is happening this October!
Show us how you went green
We want to see photos of you going green and your #beACTIVE challenges, so please send your photos to us!
Email them to cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz or put them on your socials, tag us (cpsocietynz) and use #CPSocietyNZ #BeGreenBeSeen #WorldCerebralPalsyDay #beACTIVE.
We may share your photos on our website and/or social media channels, so if you do not want your photos shared please make that clear when you send them to us.

Participate in a marathon and fundraise for the CP Society
We’re so excited – a number of members and supporters of the Cerebral Palsy Society are participating in the upcoming Auckland Marathon! You can check out who is running, and support them here.
Because the Auckland Marathon is happening in October, they’ll be raising money for Be Green & Be Seen and wearing Be Green & Be Seen t-shirts. Keep an eye out for them!
