27 Sep 2024
Kia ora ,
Good news! Spring has sprung, Day Light Saving starts this Sunday (remember to put your clocks forward an hour on Saturday night) and the temperature is slowly warming up.
Meanwhile, the team and I are busily preparing for the upcoming Annual General Meeting and Be Green & Be Seen – Kia kākāriki, kia kitea which kicks off on Tuesday.
Our Member Support team has been doing a great job of responding to member queries and there is plenty of other work happening to keep us all out of trouble.

Voting closes in one week on
Friday, October 4 at 4pm.
The AGM is being held virtually via Zoom and if you want to attend you must RSVP by 4pm on Friday, October 4 by emailing cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz. A registration link will be emailed to you.
Be Green & Be Seen
Well, here we are….just a few days out from Be Green & Be Seen – Kia kākāriki, kia kitea month kicking off!
We’ve had some wonderful interest from members and the wider community about how they can get involved in raising much-needed funds for Kiwis living with Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi.
We can’t wait to see your photos of you all embracing the colour green, and hear about your fundraising efforts.
It’s not too late to get involved! You can find out all about Be Green & Be Seen on our website – www.cerebralpalsy.org.nz/how-it-works
And there are plenty of resources here – https://cerebralpalsy.org.nz/resources-ideas/
Please help us by spreading the Be Green & Be Seen message amongst your whānau, friends and colleagues, because the funds raised will be going directly to you and your fellow members.
Our condolences to the family of Life Member Margaret Thomson
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Cerebral Palsy Society Life Member Margaret Thomson, aged 73.
She was a keen boccia player, playing in tournaments across the country, and a valued member of the Cerebral Palsy Society.
Margaret died on Saturday, September 21.
A service will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 2pm at the Mangere Presbyterian Church, 254 Kirkbride Rd, Mangere, Auckland. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
The Board and staff of the Cerebral Palsy Society offer our deepest condolences to Margaret’s family.
Farewell to our Office Manager
On Wednesday we said farewell and good luck to our wonderful Office Manager Kristina Arthur.
Kristina has been an integral part of the Management and Administration team for three years and her super organisational skills and wonderful can-do attitude will be missed.
Many of our members and suppliers would have had the pleasure of dealing with Kristina, and we are sure you will all join the CP Society staff and Board in wishing Kristina good luck for the future.

Good in the Hood
We were absolutely delighted to have been selected for Z Energy’s recent Good in the Hood programme at Z Waikumete and Z Glen Park in Auckland.
Huge thanks to everyone who went in store and gave their orange token to us to ensure we received a share of the $1 million Z Energy was generously giving to New Zealand charities.
The funds we received will go straight to supporting Cerebral Palsy Society members.
I was delighted to head along to one of Z Energy’s celebrations held this week, with Communications Manager Melanie Louden, to say thank you.
