Our Children’s Fun Day at Papatoetoe High School, Auckland, on October 7 was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who attended – we hope you had fun.

Cerebral Palsy Society members attended with their families and there were plenty of activities for everyone to get involved in – from sticky darts and painting, to decorating cookies, race cars, shooting hoops and so much more.

We were delighted to be joined by Alex and Aliss from Raukatauri Music Therapy who held a music session with instruments for the children to use, and Aleisha from Disability Sport Auckland who got the children playing Boccia.

We couldn’t have pulled the day off without the support of ALL the volunteers who joined us to set up, man the BBQ and run the activities. Thank you!

Our thanks also go to Adam from Walk on Wheels who lent us a wheelchair ramp for free, and Independent Living who lent us one at a low cost.
And a big shout out to principal Vaughan Couillault and Brian from Papatoetoe High School for letting us use their amazing school to host our Children’s Fun Day for free.

Thanks to everyone who attended, and to those that dressed up to acknowledge our annual national fundraising and awareness campaign Be Green & Be Seen.

We really appreciate the feedback that we received on the day, and that has come in after the event. Thank you.

“It was great that my child could join in the games, usually they only watch.”

“It’s lovely that the brothers and sisters can join in too.”

“I’m enjoying chatting to other parents – this is such a great day.”

“There was obviously a lot of hard work that has gone in to the event,
and we really appreciate it.”
