Be Green & Be Seen 2024 – how will you be getting involved?

13 Sep 2024

Be Green & Be Seen 2024 is just around the corner, and we are raring to go….are you?!

Be Green & Be Seen is the Cerebral Palsy Society’s annual fundraising and awareness campaign and it runs throughout the month of October.

It’s a chance for you, your family, whānau and friends, workplaces and schools to get together, embrace the colour green, #beACTIVE and raise some vital funds for the Society.

You’ll find all the information about this year’s campaign here on our website.

Why green? Because it’s the international colour for Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi.

Why October? Because World Cerebral Palsy Day is October 6 and we’re going to celebrate and raise awareness all month long.

You can hold your event, active challenge or celebration whenever it works for you – it doesn’t have to be in October.

Please help spread the word

Fundraising and awareness campaigns rely on the support of the people who directly benefit from the funds and awareness raised – that’s YOU!

YOU are the Society’s greatest and loudest advocates! So please help us by letting people know about Be Green & Be Seen.

Share our social media posts, create your own (remember to tag us!) download the Be Green & Be Seen resources here, forward our email to your boss!

Every little bit helps!

You can get involved!

Go green for the day

You can host a green-themed morning tea at home or work, or a green non-uniform day at school and ask people for a donation.

You could colour your hair green (temporary colour recommended!), dress green for the day, or use our Be Green & Be Seen virtual background for your online meetings.

Why not raffle off a jar of green lollies or a hamper of green-themed goodies, or organise a green-themed quiz?

#beACTIVE

You could always #beACTIVE while you raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy, and funds for the Cerebral Palsy Society?

Be Green & Be Seen #beACTIVE is all about setting an active challenge that works for you. You chose the activity and the distance, or length of time.

You could complete an individual challenge or create a challenge for a group, school or workplace.

Set up your own fundraising page (it’s super easy!) and use social media to ask family, whānau, friends and colleagues to support your #beACTIVE challenge by making a donation.

Donate

You can donate to Be Green & Be Seen and encourage family, whānau and friends and colleagues to do so as well.

Donations can be made by:
– Donating on our Givealittle page using this link
– Heading to our website
– Sponsoring someone who is completing a #beACTIVE challenge

Business support

Do you own a business, or work for one, that would be keen to support Be Green & Be Seen? A green-themed morning tea, or a ‘guess the number of lollies in the jar’ competition are simple fundraisers to organise. You could consider matching the staff donations!
We’ll be sure to give you some social media love in return for your generosity!

Show us how you went green

We want to see photos of you going green and your #beACTIVE challenges, so please send your photos to us!

Email them to cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz or put them on your socials, tag us (@cpsocietynz) and use #CPSocietyNZ #BeGreenBeSeen #WorldCerebralPalsyDay #beACTIVE

We may share your photos on our website and/or social media channels, so if you do not want your photos shared please make that clear when you send them to us.
