A raw, emotional and funny two part series about Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi is due to air next month.
CP and Me, has been produced by Attitude Pictures and over two informative and entertaining episodes, audiences will learn about Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi through the voices of nine people.
Part one of CP and Me airs on TVNZ 1 at 11.55am on October 5 (the day before World Cerebral Palsy Day). Part two will be screened on October 26 at 11.55am.
The episodes feature a number of Cerebral Palsy Society members.
Viewers will meet personalities including:
- Gary Endacott, Companion of the NZ Order of Merit, proud of his Endacott roots and a staunch advocate for people with disability
- Olena Smyth, a Kapa Haka performer from Ngāti Rangiwewehi (Rotorua)
- Radio broadcaster and the host of The Cerebral Palsy Podcast Kris Edwards
- Brent Eyskens, a newcomer to the comedian scene.
Attitude Pictures has been producing feature documentaries, with the support of NZ On Air, for more than two decades.
The stories told and the people profiled help reframe misconceptions and reshape viewers’ perceptions on disability.
