Cerebral Palsy Society 2025 AGM – results

19 Oct 2025

Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s AGM; from members who took the time to vote on the remits and those who attended the virtual meeting, to everyone who stood for a position on the committee, and to the past and current board/committee members.

We value the voices of our members, so to receive such a great level of engagement for the remits being considered ahead of today’s AGM, has been fantastic. Thank you.

Remit results

The results for the remits are as follows:

  • Special Resolution to Adopt a New Constitution – ACCEPTED
  • Appointment of Regional Member Spokespersons – DECLINED
  • Creation of a “Friends of CPS” Database – ACCEPTED
  • Member Proposal Submission & Multi-Reading Voting Process – DECLINED
  • Reinstate the Annual Members’ Dinners – DECLINED

Committee positions

The CP Society Committee comprises of nine (9) committee members. There were five (5) positions available, and four (4) candidates put their names forward. Therefore, there was no need for an election.

We would like to congratulate the following four (4) elected candidates, announced at today’s AGM:

  • Daniel Clay
  • Kris Edwards
  • Tiresa Sio
  • Murray Waring

We wish them all the best for their term ahead.

Three (3) committee members retain their position on the Committee until the 2025 AGM, and therefore did not stand for re-election. They are:

  • Peter Wynne-Jones
  • Helena Chan
  • Meg Smith

You can read all about them here: www.cerebralpalsy.org.nz/about-us/our-committee

The following committee members stood down at today’s AGM:

  • George Hewitt
  • Emma Lovett
  • Reuben Woods

At today’s AGM we also farewelled Renata Kotua who resigned from the board in September, and Liam Sanders who served as Member Representative on our Grants Committee and stood down earlier this month.

We are extremely grateful to them for their commitment and dedication to the Society, and for the knowledge and expertise that they brought to their roles. We thank you for your kind service.

The committee, management team and staff are looking forward to seeing what the 2025-2026 year holds for the Society.

Our thanks, once again, to electionz.com for running the voting process this year. Their support and expertise makes voting a quick and easy process for members.

Ngā mihi,
Clare and the CP Society team
