You’re invited: Cerebral Palsy / Hōkai Nukurangi Education Day

Join the NZ Cerebral Palsy Register and the Cerebral Palsy Society of NZ for an informative day of updates, research and connecting about Cerebral Palsy / Hōkai Nukurangi in Aotearoa NZ.

The day will feature updates from families, researchers and health professionals.

Presentations will focus on how activity and participation can help people living with Cerebral Palsy / Hōkai Nukurangi, to achieve what is important to them.

The day will include talks on early detection of CP; muscle growth across the lifespan; activity and participation to promote healthy futures; understanding neuroplasticity and the wider impacts of living with cerebral palsy.

A special part of the day will be small group work to start the process of setting research, health and advocacy priorities for people with cerebral palsy in Aotearoa NZ. The contribution of people with lived experience is essential to help plan for the next five years and beyond.

The target audience for this day is people with lived experience of cerebral palsy; allied health professionals; other health professionals and researchers interested in this area.

We are excited to have Paula Tesoriero MNZM PLY introduce the day. Associate Professor Sian Williams and Dr Gaela Kilgour will lead the presentations, with a wide range of contributions from others.
