Be Green & Be Seen 2026 – how you can get involved this October

03 Sep 2026

Be Green & Be Seen kicks off on October 1 and we wanted to take a moment to fill you in on all the ways you could get involved this year.

Be Green & Be Seen is the Cerebral Palsy Society’s annual awareness and fundraising campaign and is all about making inclusion visible, celebrating diversity and raising vital funds for members of the Society.

Whether you……

  • Encourage your Early Childhood Centre or school to enter one of our competitions
  • Share your story as part of This is CP and go in the draw to win a $50 Z Energy voucher
  • Share your photo and go in the draw to win a $50 Z Energy voucher
  • Get your workplace involved
  • Use our resources

…..we’d love you to help us get people talking and raising funds!

Together, let’s make Cerebral Palsy – Hōkai Nukurangi visible!

Here’s how you can get involved

Competition for Early Childhood Centres

Participating ECEs that raise over $50 will automatically go in the draw to win a $250 Creative Classrooms voucher to spend on resources for their centre.

Competition for schools

Participating schools that raise over $500 will automatically go in the draw to win a special visit from Danielle Aitchison, multiple Paralympic and World Para Athletics medallist and 2026 Halberg Para Athlete of the Year.

You can hear more from Danielle here:

Share your story – This is CP

This is CP is an opportunity for you to tell everyone what it means to live with Cerebral Palsy and help them understand that every CP journey is different.
All you have to do is answer the questions on our form – we’ll do the rest!
To say thank you for taking the time to share your story, one lucky Cerebral Palsy Society member will go in the draw to win a $50 Z Energy gift card!
The winner will be drawn, at random, on Monday November 2.

Photo competition

Show us your loudest and brightest green and go in the draw to win a $50 Z Energy gift card!
Email your photos to cpsociety@cpsociety.org.nz with “Photo competition” in the subject line to go in the draw to win the Z voucher.
One lucky winner will be drawn, at random, on Monday November 2.

If you’re submitting photos, please note: They might be used for promotional purposes – such as on our website, social media channels etc so please only send photos where permission is given for us to publish them.

Workplaces

Ask your workplace to Go Green and Give Gold to raise awareness and show your support of Cerebral Palsy!
It can be as simple as hosting a green-themed morning tea or wearing green to work. You can collect gold coin donations – but why stop there?! How about a raffle to win the boss’s carpark for a week?

Perhaps you’d like an online presentation from a Cerebral Palsy Society staff member at your Be Green & Be Seen event?
It’s a great way for your colleagues to learn a little more about Cerebral Palsy and how Be Green & Be Seen plays an important part in spreading the word about inclusivity and raising funds for our vital programmes.

Resources

We’ve made it super easy for you to spread the word and let people know you’re taking part in Be Green & Be Seen.
Whether it’s posters, social media tiles, a fact sheet, certificates or resources for the classroom, we’ve got you sorted.

If our team can be of any help at all as you prepare for your Be Green & Be Seen event please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
