Parafed Auckland Programmes

Parafed Auckland has a number of  opportunities that are upcoming for the next few months, with both Wheelchair Tennis and the Wheelchair Basketball for their monthly junior opportunities starting beginning of May.

Monthly Junior Programme Quarter 2:

Thanks to our incredible partners, Auckland Wheelstarz, Touch Compass Dance and Extreme Edge Rock Climbing, we are extremely excited for our second round of activities for 2019:

  • Wheelchair Basketball (Saturday 4th May, Massey University Recreation Centre)
  • Hip Hop and Youth Theatre (22nd June, Touch Compass Dance: Takapuna Methodist Hall)
  • Rock Climbing (20th July, Extreme Edge Rock Climbing)

Wheelchair Tennis 8 week programme:

Our 8-week Wheelchair Tennis Programme run in conjunction with Wheelchair Tennis NZ and local tennis coach Matt Jones is starting back up this Thursday!

Sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities, and players do not have to be wheelchair users in everyday life to participate- All welcome!

  • When: Thursday Evenings starting 2nd of May- 20th of June
  • Where: Manukau Sports Bowl- Indoor Tennis Courts
  • Time:  5:00pm-6:30pm

Chev Inclusive Junior Sports Club:

Our inclusive 6-week programme is all about developing fundamental movement skills and introducing different sports in a fun, safe, inclusive environment. Sessions welcome any young person with a disability and is most suitable to those aged 5 to 11 years.

  • When: Tuesday afternoons starting 21st May-25th June
  • Where: Pt. Chevalier Primary School
  • Time: 3.30pm-4.15pm
